I have the new NEXUS 7 in hand! Time to test this baby and give a full impressions! The display looks fantastic and the new look and feel is just awesome! Stay tuned for my measurements!
When at MWC I had a few moments with the Optimus G Pro, so I bid it against the Note II. What do you think? Based on the preliminaries, which would you go for???
*Benchmarks, screen comparison, hardware, software, feature comparisons*
I was at Samsung Unpacked in New York for the Galaxy S4 release! Here is my in-depth, hands on with the device! I hope you get a good idea about whether this is the phone for you or not as you wait until end of April for retail release.
At MWC 2013 I had a chance to really spend some quality time with the Xperia Z. It truly is an awesome phone! Just wish it had a better contrast ratio!!!
Check out the HTC One. HTC Sense 5.0 has made a lot of interesting changes. What do you think about Blinkfeed, Ultrapixels, Zoe and BoomSound? I think this phone has a lot to offer; but, you may like the changes or you may not…
HTC will be sending me a unit for full review as soon as possible.
DON’T DO THIS AT HOME! MWC 2013 official Sony Drop Test. Of course I got to take a whack at it too lol. This phone is very well built and incredibly strong on all levels. Front is most likely Dragontrail glass by Japanese supplier Asahi, while the back is most likely Corning Gorilla Glass.
Make sure to keep all your ports tightly sealed when exposing to the elements! If water gets passed any of the flaps, a moisture sensor is waiting to claim misuse, seemingly at your expense. Sony doesn’t want to claim responsibility for misuse. Still this is a great phone that will appeal much to the accident prone and adventurers.
Jellybean 4.2.1 and 4.2.2 are the same! This is an excerpt from my feature length Nexus 4 review. When the Nexus 4 gets hot, both the CPU and GPU are throttled or slowed down to prevent some kind of problem with the phone. It seems Qualcomm and Google want this in place so that the battery life isn’t incredibly short and to also to protect the battery from overheating. This may be tough on gamers because they won’t be able to enjoy the full processing power when over 36 degrees Celsius.
Sony phones really are scratch resistant without the shatterproof sheet.
T and Z may have different glass but both have the same screen sheet. Sony oddly glues a screen protector onto their scratch resistant glass. They call this a shatterproof sheet and keeps broken glass shards from leaving the glass. It scratches easily and after a while does no good for visibility. Watch as I torture and remove it!!!
A TACTFUL VIDEO RESPONSE
FILMIC PRO SOLVES THIS ISSUE!
*The continuous auto-focus feature works great in 3rd party apps!*
The default iPhone 5 app has no ability to continuously auto focus DURING VIDEO. I am not talking about when snapping a picture, or just before hitting record on the camera or while manually tapping to focus. I am talking about moving the recording camera and noticing that it can’t re-evaluate focus to save its life.
Several devices I will show have no issues with this simple implementation. Featuring
Galaxy Note II
